ScoreBouncer is the controller or business responsible for the personal information described in this Policy, except where a league, club, team, school, or other organization independently determines why and how it submits information. Those organizations may have their own privacy obligations and policies.
This Policy does not cover third-party websites or services linked from the Service. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices.

Where information comes from
We receive personal information from:
- You, when you register, edit a profile, upload media, create a team or league, score a match, or contact us.
- Other users, including captains, team organizers, league administrators, scorers, and umpires who add you to a roster or enter match information involving you.
- Your device and browser when you access the Service.
- Service providers that host, secure, store, or measure use of the Service.
If you provide information about another person, you represent that you are authorized to do so and that you have delivered any notice and obtained any consent required by applicable law, particularly for minors, photographs, contact information, and emergency-contact details.
Public profiles, scores, and uploaded media
ScoreBouncer is a public cricket-scoring platform. Information intended for public display may be visible without an account and may be indexed, copied, shared, or captured by others. Public information can include:
- Player name, profile image, age or date-of-birth-derived information, playing role, team memberships, and cricket statistics.
- Team, league, organizer, season, fixture, venue, scorecard, commentary, roster, result, ranking, and award information.
- Logos, banners, photos, and other media uploaded for public profiles or public competitions.
Uploaded images are currently stored in public object storage. Anyone with the image URL may be able to access it. Do not upload confidential images or documents. Removing content from ScoreBouncer may not remove copies previously cached, downloaded, indexed, or shared by others.
Private account details such as password hashes, session tokens, and emergency-contact information are not intended for public display. Users and organizers should nevertheless avoid entering confidential information into public description, commentary, rule, or biography fields.
How and why we use information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- Provide the Service: create and authenticate accounts, maintain sessions, operate team and league features, publish scores and statistics, and provide user-requested functionality.
- Administer cricket activities: manage eligibility, rosters, fixtures, scoring permissions, standings, results, statistics, and historical records.
- Security and integrity: detect abuse, investigate suspicious activity, prevent unauthorized access, enforce our Terms, troubleshoot errors, and protect users and the Service.
- Improve and measure the Service: understand aggregate usage, maintain performance, test features, and improve usability.
- Communicate: respond to support, privacy, legal, and operational requests and send important service notices.
- Legal and business purposes: comply with law, respond to valid legal process, establish or defend legal claims, conduct audits, and support a merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer.
Where European, UK, or similar law requires a legal basis, we generally rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where consent is specifically required. You may withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the legal basis, but withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing.
How we disclose information
We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
- Public and community display: public profiles, rosters, fixtures, scores, commentary, statistics, league information, and uploaded media are displayed as part of the Service.
- Other users and organizers: authorized captains, organizers, scorers, umpires, and administrators may access information needed to operate teams, leagues, and matches.
- Service providers: Vercel provides hosting, web analytics, and public image storage; Neon provides database infrastructure; and other technical providers may process information on our behalf under contractual or legal obligations.
- Legal and safety: regulators, courts, law enforcement, professional advisers, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud, or enforce agreements.
- Business transfers: a buyer, investor, lender, adviser, successor, or other participant in a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
- With your direction or consent: when you request or authorize a disclosure.
Service providers are permitted to process information only for the services they provide to us, subject to their agreements and applicable law. Their infrastructure may operate in multiple countries.
Sale, targeted advertising, and profiling
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use personal information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Publicly displaying cricket information at a user’s or organizer’s direction and disclosing information to processors that operate the Service are not treated by us as a sale. If our practices materially change, we will update this Policy and provide rights or consent mechanisms required by applicable law.
Because we do not currently sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, there is no separate “Do Not Sell or Share” transaction to complete. Where required, we will recognize applicable browser-based opt-out preference signals for activities covered by law.
Data retention and deletion
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain accurate cricket records, secure accounts, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention depends on the type of information and why it was collected.
- Account and profile information is generally retained while an account remains active and for a reasonable period after deactivation or a verified deletion request.
- Session records expire according to their configured expiration and may be deleted sooner when a user logs out.
- Match, league, scoring, roster, and statistics records may be retained after account deletion where necessary to preserve the integrity, history, and attribution of public competition records.
- Security logs, backups, legal records, and records needed to prevent fraud or enforce rights may be retained for longer periods.
- We may de-identify or aggregate information and retain the resulting non-identifiable information.
Deletion rights are subject to legal exceptions. For example, we may preserve a player’s name in a historical scorecard while removing private account details or disconnecting the scorecard from the account.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes rather than plain text, and authentication sessions use HTTP-only cookies. Access to administrative and scoring functions is limited through role and permission checks.
No service, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, uninterrupted availability, or that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed. You are responsible for using a strong unique password, protecting your device, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.
International data transfers
ScoreBouncer is operated from the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. These countries may have privacy laws different from those where you live.
Where required, we rely on contractual commitments, approved transfer mechanisms, adequacy decisions, or other lawful safeguards. By making public cricket information available through the Service, you understand that it can be accessed globally.
Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Know whether we process your personal information and request access to it.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Request deletion, subject to exceptions.
- Receive certain information in a portable format.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling if those activities occur and the law applies.
- Appeal a denial of a privacy request where applicable.
- Not receive unlawful discriminatory treatment for exercising privacy rights.
You can update many profile fields in your account. To submit a privacy request, email info@scorebouncer.com with the subject “Privacy Request.” Describe the right you wish to exercise and the account or information involved. We may need to verify your identity and authority. Authorized agents may be required to provide proof of authority.
We will respond within the period required by applicable law. Some information may be exempt, and certain requests may be limited to protect other users, preserve match integrity, comply with law, or prevent fraud. If we deny an appealable request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject “Privacy Appeal.”
United States state privacy notice
This section applies only where a U.S. state privacy law applies to ScoreBouncer and to the requesting person. During the preceding twelve months, the categories of personal information described in “Information we collect” may have been collected, used, and disclosed for the business purposes described in this Policy.
- Identifiers: name, email, user ID, account identifiers, IP-related information, and profile image.
- Customer-record and contact information: phone, address, date of birth, and account details when provided.
- Internet or electronic activity: page views, device/browser information, interactions, logs, and authentication events.
- Geolocation: coarse location derived from network or analytics information and locations users enter for teams, leagues, venues, or profiles.
- Audio/visual information: profile photos, team logos, league banners, and other uploaded media.
- Professional or organizational information: team, league, organizer, umpire, captain, scorer, and cricket-participation roles.
- Sensitive information: account credentials, precise contact details, date of birth, and emergency-contact information when voluntarily provided. We use sensitive information only for permitted service, security, and administrative purposes.
- Inferences and performance records: rankings, statistics, form, role, and cricket-performance information derived from match activity.
We may disclose these categories to the public where content is designated public, to organizers and users who operate the relevant cricket activities, and to service providers, professional advisers, authorities, and transaction participants as described above. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 for targeted advertising.
Additional information for the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
Individuals in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent, subject to applicable conditions and exceptions. You may also lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority where you live, work, or believe a violation occurred.
We do not currently use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Our lawful bases and international-transfer approach are described above. Where ScoreBouncer is required to appoint an EU or UK representative or data-protection officer, the relevant contact information will be posted in this Policy.
Children and youth cricket
ScoreBouncer supports youth cricket, but children under 13 may not create their own accounts. If we learn that an account was created directly by a child under 13 without legally valid parental authorization, we may suspend the account and delete or restrict the associated personal information as required by law.
Users below the age of majority must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. In countries where the age for consenting to an online service is higher than 13, parental or guardian authorization is required until the applicable age is reached.
A parent, guardian, school, club, or league organizer who creates or submits information about a minor is responsible for obtaining required authorization and limiting information to what is reasonably necessary. Do not publicly post a minor’s home address, phone number, emergency contact, school schedule, precise routine, or other information that could create a safety risk. Parents and guardians may contact us to request review, correction, restriction, or deletion of a minor’s information, subject to match-record and legal exceptions.
Third-party services and links
The Service may link to maps, social platforms, league websites, video services, payment services introduced in the future, or other third-party resources. We do not control their privacy practices, security, availability, or content. Review their policies before providing information to them.
Changes and contact information
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Service, technology, law, or our practices. We will post the revised Policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required. Material changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise.
Questions, privacy requests, and complaints may be sent to info@scorebouncer.com. Please do not include passwords, session tokens, government identification, or other highly sensitive information in email.
Public information reminder
Only upload information and images that may lawfully be displayed to the public.
